What is ARISE?
ARISE is a two-year initiative that invites you to grow in your faith and generosity to fund the vision God has for Immanuel.
Primary Goal
100% Engagement
100% engagement for every one of us who calls Immanuel our church home to grow in our own stewardship and generosity: to trust God with more of our resources and watch him provide for us in loving and surprising ways.
Secondary Goal
Raise $2.6 Million
Over the next two years, we want to raise $2.6 million. This single ARISE fund will not only support our ongoing ministry, mission, and outreach opportunities for the next two years ($1.3M) but also grow our building reserves ($1.3M), preparing us to purchase a permanent church home.
A Desire to See God Transform Chicago
Since 2013 Immanuel Anglican Church has sought to lift high the Son of God, that all may be drawn to Him. Through this significant investment toward a permanent church home and future ministry we hope to see the Spirit fan into flame the many gifts God has nurtured in Immanuel:
- A church filled with compassion, peace and a gift of healing for our city filled with anxious and hurting people.
- A community filled with artistic vision and hope for our city longing for beauty.
- A people rich in prayer, liturgy and spiritual formation for our city looking for authentic spiritual connection.
- A deep connection to the Gospel’s answers to the pressing questions of the human heart for our city that is skeptical and searching.
Our Goal: $2.6 Million
Immanuel’s plan is to use $1.3M to support our ongoing ministry and mission in Chicago and $1.3M to grow our building reserves.
By giving to a single fund, we build flexibility into the financial structure, empowering the Parish Council to make minor adjustments to the final numbers to best advance Immanuel’s mission.
The ARISE Fund is designed to keep things simple.
During the ARISE giving season, all giving will be made to a single ARISE Fund — this includes our tithes, expanded generosity, and any additional amount given as a one-time gift.
Every ARISE gift given to Immanuel will go toward our ongoing ministries and mission in Chicago and a permanent home for our church family.
This means ONE amount to ONE fund.
Key Dates
October 20- November 17: ARISE Sermon Series
Before we begin our giving to the ARISE Fund, Fr. Aaron will help us to look at what the Scriptures have to say about money and generosity, and the ways that these realities connect to our sense of security, fulfillment, and joy. These 5 weeks are also a time to prayerfully discern what God is asking you to give to Immanuel’s future.
November 17, 2024: Commitment Sunday
Having determined what you’d like to give to the ARISE Fund, bring your Commitment Card to church for a time of devoting our ARISE offerings to God as a congregation. November 17th will be an exciting day where we figuratively hold hands and jump into this adventure together. Our hope is that 100% of those who call Immanuel home will make a giving commitment.
November 24, 2024: Giving Sunday
On Sunday, November 24th — just before the Thanksgiving holiday — we will all bring our first and best gift to ARISE. We will celebrate in thanksgiving to God, sharing the total amount pledged and bringing our offerings.
December 2024 – December 2026: Giving Season
We encourage everyone to automate their giving and set the increased amount beginning in December 2024. The ARISE Giving Season will continue through the end of 2026 and every gift given will be to the ARISE Fund. We will celebrate all God has done in and through us with a culmination celebration.
